tom anderson Tom Anderson has been the Curriculum Director for the Collingswood, New Jersey Public Schools since 1985. Tom completed the VHS Teachers Learning Conference (TLC), developed and taught the VHS course, Lewis and Clark Expedition, and is currently teaching AP Government.

sheldon bermanSheldon Berman is Superintendent of the Jefferson County, Kentucky public schools. Dr. Berman was formerly superintendent of Hudson, Massachusetts, public schools, where he initiated curricular innovations in service learning, character education, mathematics and science reform, high school restructuring, and computer technology, and is a founding member of VHS.

Janet Dracksdorf is President of Vista Higher Learning, a Boston-based publisher of market leading foreign language learning print and technology products targeted at secondary and post-secondary instructors and students. She has more than 20 years experience in the educational publishing and technology industries. Under her direction, Vista Higher Learning has experienced substantial growth and was cited in the Educational Marketer 2006 as the fastest-growing higher education publishing company in the foreign language learning market.

thomas giblinThomas Giblin is Professor of English Education at SUNY College at Brockport, an 8,500 student campus offering a comprehensive program of teacher education from initial certification through graduate school. Tom has served as Superintendent of Schools in East Lansing, Michigan, and in Guilford, Connecticut, and earlier in his career was an Associate Superintendent in Colorado Springs and an Associate Professor of Education at the University of Colorado.

Losira Okelo is Director of Online Professional Development at iEARN-USA (International Education and Resource Network). She has more than 10 years of experience in education with expertise in international education. Her experience includes working for Columbia University Teacher's College, the Education Planning Institute, UNESCO- BREDA: Regional Bureau for Education and the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. At iEARN she coordinates the online professional development program for primary through secondary school educators worldwide to integrate curriculum-based technology projects into their classrooms.

chuck olsenChuck Olson is a partner at LTGO. At LTGO Chuck works with firms who develop educational technology such as Zeus Learning in Mumbai, India. Chuck's product vision has been instrumental in the development of numerous educational software products. Previously, as CEO of LTG, he grew the company and produced products for Simon & Schuster companies spanning K-college, including Prentice Hall's ground breaking Interactive Math series.

denise goodwin paceDenise Goodwin Pace is a Partner at The Halo Group, a marketing communications agency with offices in New York City and Long Island. Before founding Halo in 1994, Denise spent over 20 years in the communications field, including positions in journalism.

liz papeLiz Pape is a renowned author and speaker who has more than 15 years of experience helping K-12 schools to develop a 21st century learning model. She is CEO of Virtual High School (VHS), pioneers of online learning for high school students and online course design for teachers. Under her management, VHS has grown from 28 member schools and 30 classes offered to over 400 member schools and 260 teachers in 29 states and 24 countries. She serves on the Board of Directors of the North American Council for Online Learning (NACOL), Blackboard Idea Exchange Steering Committee and Board of Champions of the Massachusetts Girls Collaborative and has served on the U.S. Department of Education National Online Education Policy Forum and the NCREL Blue Ribbon Panel for Online Education. Dr. Suellen ReedSuellen Reed is Indiana’s longest-serving and first female chief state school officer. As the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Suellen serves as the CEO of the Indiana Department of Education, Chairperson of the State Board of Education and Co-Chair of Indiana’s Education Roundtable among other responsibilities. Suellen has shaped major educational reform initiatives during her tenure as state superintendent, including Indiana’s well-regarded academic standards, student assessments and school accountability system. She has also traveled widely, visiting schools throughout the world in an effort to expand international connections and educational opportunities. Prior to becoming state superintendent, Suellen served as a teacher at the elementary, middle and high school levels, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent and local superintendent

sue scottSue Scott is the Distance Learning Consultant for the state of North Carolina. Sue is responsible for the procurement and scheduling of instructional television programming via UNC TV, Public Television Network, staff development and student instruction sites for the eastern part of the state for StarNet satellite delivery, and coordinates the existing VHS online consortium sites in North Carolina.

Barbara Stein manages technology partnerships and policies, as well as K-12 online learning issues, at the 3.2 million member National Education Association. She facilitates NEA’s work with the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, and also leads a team at NEA that is incorporating the 21st century skills and approach programmatically throughout the organization and affiliates. She currently serves on the board of COSN (the Consortium for School Networking), and as secretary of the NCTET (the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training.)

robert tinkerRobert Tinker has, for thirty years, pioneered innovative approaches to education that exploit the power of technology. Twelve years ago he started the nonprofit Concord Consortium to focus on educational technologies. His group originated the idea of using sensors in student learning investigations, pioneered online collaborative student projects, and created the first online high school cooperative. Bob earned his PhD in experimental low temperature physics from MIT and has taught college physics for ten years.

holden watermanHolden Waterman is Superintendent of schools in East Windsor, Connecticut. He has served as Superintendent of schools in Newfane, Vermont, and Salem, Connecticut. He has also been responsible for developing an Asian Studies program and expanding a World Cultures program.
