Announcing the 2009 “VHS Scholarship Program” |
VHS is pleased to announce our second annual scholarship program for graduating high school seniors of the class of 2009. This year’s scholarship has been expanded to provide students with two options for submission.
VHS will award a minimum of four $500 scholarships and up to as many as six $500 scholarships.
Option 1:
VHS will award one $500 scholarship Award.
Individual students may submit a no more than 1500 word essay describing in detail how their VHS course experience has influenced their views and perspective regarding education. This can be submitted in written format as a word doc file or can be submitted as a podcast narrated by the student. (Think deeply about how your course experience has altered your outlook on education!)
Option 2:
Team scholarship awarded ($500 per team member)
A team of a minimum of three and maximum of five students from at least two different schools may submit a joint project. This option requires that students create a video “mashup” that clearly addresses the impact that taking a VHS online course has had on learning 21st Century Skills as defined by The Partnership for 21st Century Skills. Each participant should select a different skill from the framework provided at the Partnership website. This video must be a minimum of three minutes and not exceed six minutes.
