For Guidance Counselors

Are you a Guidance Counselor who needs to help students find courses not currently available at your high school? Do you have students who need certain classes for graduation, but cannot find time in their schedules to fit them in? How can you be sure Virtual High School (VHS) is right for your students? Learn how VHS can help…

Meet the singleton learning needs at your school:

The VHS course catalog showcases a full listing of core, elective, Advanced Placement (AP) and Pre-AP courses. This wide selection of courses means you can meet all the individual educational needs of students in your school with one program.

Flexible scheduling options:

VHS believes in student-centered classes, which encourage collaboration among students. Therefore, our classes are scheduled asynchronously. This means that although the student has the flexibility to access his or her class anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there are defined due dates and scheduled deadlines for assignments and activities. This enables students and teachers from multiple time zones and various school schedules to participate fully in the same course, and it allows every student the ability to contribute equally to discussions. In addition, our asynchronous model allows you, as a Guidance Counselor, to flexibly schedule your students for their VHS classes into any available time blocks during their school day.

How do you know if VHS is right for your students?

We've created a self-grading questionnaire to provide students, site coordinators and guidance personnel a better indication of which students will do well in Virtual High School NetCourses. Our experience has shown that students do not need to be "A" students or over-achievers to do well in VHS; however, there are some qualities we have found to be consistent among students who succeed in VHS. This questionnaire will help determine if your students are ready to take the next step - participation in VHS VHS Pre-Student Survey Questionnaire.
