Why teach in Virtual High School?
As a Virtual High School teacher, you will:

What course can I teach?
Depending upon the training option you select (NIM or TLC), you can either:
- Develop from scratch a course in your field of expertise that you may or may not have had the opportunity of teaching face-to-face. You can take a subject about which you are knowledgeable and passionate and turn it into an exemplary online course.
- Choose from a wide array of courses that have already been developed to VHS' exacting standards. These are courses which are very popular and of which VHS needs additional sections
How can I become a teacher in Virtual High School?
- You must hold current 7-12 certification in your content area and be experienced teaching on the secondary school level.
- You must successfully complete your training through one of VHS' professional development offerings, either the 10-week, six graduate credit NetCourse Instructional Methodologies or the 22-week, twelve graduate credit Teachers' Learning Conference.
- You must be employed by a school district which belongs to the Virtual High School collaborative.

I want everyone to know that this year has been the best professional development year for me in 27 years of teaching. I not only feel part of a new wave of education but I feel that I have re-fallen in love with my subject - biology. By developing my course, I have had the opportunity to introspectively analyze what I am teaching, why I teach in the way I do, and how I can change and improve my communications with students.
