Q What type of computer access do I need to participate in Best Practices online Training?
A To participate in the Best Practices online training you will need a computer (PC or Mac) with reliable Internet access and a compatible web browser.
Q How do I register for the training?
A Submit the request through our online registration for Best Practices series training.
Q What happens if I have to cancel or change dates after I register?
A Participants who officially withdraw from their courses through Virtual High School may receive a refund of tuition according to the following schedule:
1. A 75% tuition refund will be granted if withdrawal from the course occurs during or prior to the first week of the semester week ending Tuesday.
2. No tuition refund will be granted after the end of the designated cancellation periods listed above.
3. No tuition refunds will be granted if the participant is dropped from the program due to non-attendance or lack of participation.
Q Can I share my online training user ID with other teachers at my school?
A No, the ID may not be shared with others other than the original training registrant.

Q Who are the instructors for the Best Practices VHS online training courses?
A All Virtual High School Best Practices professional development courses are taught by experienced faculty members. Each is an expert in designing and facilitating online courses and brings a unique area of specialization to the team. All have been involved with the Virtual High School (VHS) in many capacities and can offer the best recommendations and strategies to our professional development participants.
Q Can each teacher in the Best Practices online training course proceed at his or her own pace and schedule?
A Virtual High School Best Practices online training courses are not digital correspondence classes. VHS believes in student-centered classes which encourage collaboration between class participants. Therefore, our classes are scheduled asynchronous. This means that although the student has the flexibility to access his or her class anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there are defined due dates and scheduled deadlines for assignments and activities.
Q Can I interact with the instructor and other teachers in the Best Practices course?
A Teacher-to-teacher interaction, and teacher-to-instructor communication is an integral part of all VHS. Professional development courses. Professional development participants communicate through asynchronous threaded discussion.
Q Will this training prepare me to teach for Virtual High School for my school?
A The VHS Best Practices training will help prepare you to facilitate online; however only schools that participate in the Virtual High School collaborative with a trained NetCourse Instructional Methodologies (NIM) or Teachers Learning Conference (TLC) training graduate may sponsor a VHS course on behalf of their school.
