Our Professional Development Modules are condensed, targeted courses that offer the same degree of rigorous learning that is synonymous with the VHS model.
Modules begin with a one-hour synchronous webinar that includes an orientation and overview of the syllabus. These kick-off webinars will take place from 7-8 pm EST on the opening day of each learning module and will be recorded for those participants who are unable to attend. Subsequent course hours are offered in an online co-synchronous learning model (including online office hours with facilitator) over the course of the session. Courses start on the first Wednesday of the month and run for three weeks.
Open Educational Resources in the K-12 Classroom

An introduction to the world of Open Educational Resources (OER), digital learning materials that are freely available for use, remixing, and redistribution on the web. You will learn about the OER movement, plus subject-specific resources and strategies for integrating OER into classes.
Introduction to Blended Learning

Investigate varying conceptions of blended learning, explore the value of creating blended learning environments including your own role in blended learning, and strategies for moving toward a blended approach to teaching.
Introduction to Technology-Infused Teaching and Learning

Learn the central principles and goals of creating technology-rich classrooms, investigate the challenges and benefits of teaching digital-age students, and explore 21st century skills and promising practices for creating technology-rich teaching environments.
Walk Throughs: Looking for Learning in 21st Century Classroom
10 Hours, Starts: July 11
This self-paced module covers the what, why, and how of technology-infused focused Walk Throughs for school administrators. We focus on three questions: (1) What is Technology-Infused Teaching and Learning? (2) Why is Technology-Infused Teaching and Learning important? (3) How do you collect data from a Walk Through

Assignments & Final Product:
- Co-synchronous Discussions and/or Blog entries
- Artifact for participants e-learning portfolio (e.g., modified assignment, class project, lesson, or classroom practice) that is linked to the skills and pedagogical practices addressed in the module, along with a short reflection essay or blog entry.
