Site Coordinator Orientation (SCO)

The Virtual High School Site Coordinator Orientation (SCO) teaches local Site Coordinators to effectively administer Virtual High School courses at their school. This course is for Site Coordinators from both fully participating and student-only schools.

Learning Objectives

  • Monitor student progress
  • View and report student grades
  • Recruit and register students for VHS courses
  • Navigate the VHS course platform
  • Utilize the VHS faculty web site to reference policies and procedures

Participation requirements
Completed in two parts:

Part I – This self paced section and can be started as soon as an application is submitted and access to our system is granted. It provides you with a general overview of implementing and managing the VHS program at your school.

  • Upcoming Session: Rolling Admission

Part II – This portion of the training is a two-week, facilitated online course. It provides more hands-on training in the online environment and covers recruitment, participation, communication and student support while enrolled in VHS courses. Participants in this section of the training should expect approximately five hours of coursework per week.

  • Upcoming Session: Upon successful completion of Part I you will automatically be enrolled in the next session offered in: March, May, July, September, November, and January

Graduate Credit

This course is eligible for two graduate credits from Plymouth State University.
