9:20 am, office Simon goes to the homepage of the VHS web site and reads the recent announcements. He logs in with his personal User Name and password so that he can have faculty access to protected databases. One of the two VHS teachers at his school has asked him to mail a CD-ROM out to his 25 students across the country. A software company has donated 25 copies of a software package to the teacher for use in his VHS NetCourse. Simon goes to the Media Tracking System and prints out the teacher's class list, which lists students' names, schools, and mailing addresses. He copies all of these addresses into a new file in his label-making program, and prints out labels. Simon packs up the CD-ROMs and gets them ready to mail out. He checks his mail and finds that a package with photocopied packets of reading materials has arrived for three of his students who are taking "101 Ways to Write a Short Story." He'll distribute them later today when he goes to the computer lab to check on the two kids experiencing technical troubles with their course.
