12:10 pm, teacher's lounge

Simon leaves his office and walks to the teacher's lounge. While his lunch is heating in the microwave, he brings the VHS homepage up on all the computers. He and the two VHS teachers at the North Carolina school sent out an e-mail to all the faculty and staff, saying that they'd be available in the teacher's lounge at lunch time today to answer any questions about VHS. He chats with the two VHS teachers and asks how their courses are going. One of them opens her course to show an interested colleague how it works. Some other teachers come in, look around the VHS site and ask him questions about the experience. One teacher asks Simon if there's a possibility that he could participate by teaching a class that he's always wanted to teach. Simon tells the teacher to look through the VHS site, and to look through the information on VHS training. Simon also shows the teacher where to find the VHS teacher and course applications online. There's a lot of student interest at the school, so Simon thinks they can easily fill 75 spaces if they offer a third course next year.

Simon sits down at one of the computers and goes to the private faculty member website. He reads the latest faculty announcements and then posts a message in the Water Cooler discussion area. Simon is presenting a VHS poster at an upcoming conference, so he wants to know if any other VHS faculty members are planning to attend the conference. He asks if anyone is interested in having a VHS get-together during the conference, and attaches an electronic copy of the conference schedule to his post.
