Syllabus:
Basic Mandarin Chinese Language
and Culture Syllabus:
Mandarin-Chinese is a comprehensive
course at the standard level which includes basic expressions and vocabulary
needed to function in the Mandarin-Chinese language.
This course will include:
Oral communication with use of basic
expressions of everyday conversation at the beginning level including speaking
with accurate pronunciation. Students will be able to introduce themselves,
ask for information and learn basic verbal skills.
Verbal skills which include building
of vocabulary, incorporating
verbal structure into oral communication.
Basic grammar, syntax, and structure
to reinforce speaking abilities.
Students will learn using various
modalities including:
Oral repetition including modeling
by teacher.
Listening comprehension.
Communicative activities which practice
and reinforce materials
learned.
Simple dialogues such as introduction,
asking and giving
information.
Group projects based on grammar, and
vocabulary.
Computer software
Web search about China and finish
Chinese culture project.
